Lots of loss and sadness in the world this week, but here's just the thing to pick up your spirits - another episode of Just A Bit Outside! We start with a goodbye to a couple athletes we lost, as well as a salute to Travis Lulay for his retirement, and wondering what could have been. In hockey, we take a step back from the brink with our view on the Canucks. Has the recent slide really been that bad? Should the cartel be in danger of losing their hold on power? Have the results this season been surprising? We do a little comparison with the current GM and the greatest Canucks GM, and the retrospect may surprise you. Hoisted by his own petard, Geoff apologizes this week for falling into the media trap, even if it was by accident. Beyond eating his own words, there is really only one thing to talk about on this episode, and that's the fallout from the NHL trade deadline. The Canucks made two deals, impacting both the now and the future. Are they working up to something major this off-season? Did they improve or get worse? Should we read much into the cartel's trading record? What about any deals that didn't happen? We also look around the league at the buyers and sellers, as well as the teams that stood pat. Who came out ahead? All this plus our best and worst in Garbage Time!
