Episode 151 - Paging Tin Foil Hats
Tuesday Jul 30, 2019
Tuesday Jul 30, 2019
Get your conspiracy hats on as we answer your questions in another episode of Just A Bit Outside! We start off with the BC Lions absolutely abysmal performance against the Riders. Are there any answers for the multiple problems the team has? Is this just going to be one of those seasons? Will changes be made? You could ask those same questions of the Whitecaps, who continue their winless streak.
We cover a lot of areas with your questions this week, including if the Canucks are cursed, the Minnesota Wild drama, NFL predictions, and lots of baseball, with discussion on the Vancouver Canadians, the Blue Jays, and the pennant races in both leagues. We even discuss a little nature. All this plus our best and worst in Garbage Time!

Tuesday Jul 23, 2019
The milestones just keep on coming for Just A Bit Outside, and we're glad you're with us for the ride! We start off with the tire fires that are the BC Lions and Vancouver Whitecaps. While both fires have separate causes, are they equally as bad? How concerned should each team be with their on-field performance? We also talk a little baseball and look back at the British Open (we even discuss the Champions Tour!)
We pass the dogs days of summer with discussion on the great questions we continue to receive from you, including the new arena deal in Calgary, the hiring of Ron Francis in Seattle, the potential of a new sports rivalry in the pacific northwest, and the usual tidbits on the Canucks. All this plus our best and worst in Garbage Time!

Episode 149 - Paging Brock Boeser
Tuesday Jul 16, 2019
Tuesday Jul 16, 2019
You thought mid-July meant no Canucks? You thought wrong, but did right by listening to another episode of Just A Bit Outside! We start off with a review of another epic tennis showdown at Wimbledon? Who is the best men's tennis player of all time? What of the BC Lions and Vancouver Whitecaps? Which franchise has been more disappointing this season? Will changes be coming if things don't turn around?
With hockey, we discuss the Micheal Ferland signing and the potential roster fallout it may cause. Will Loui Eriksson get moved, or perhaps a younger and bigger name? Is Brock Boeser going to get s new contract or is he on the trading block? We also answer your questions throughout the show! All this and more, plus our best and worst in Garbage Time!

Episode 148 - Paging Snoop Dogg
Tuesday Jul 09, 2019
Tuesday Jul 09, 2019
How do we celebrate reaching 1000 followers on Facebook? With a show on our bread and butter topic of course. But before we get to that, we look at a couple other Vancouver teams. The BC Lions won their first game of the year in ugly fashion, but a win is a win. Have they begun to turn a corner, or is it going to be a long season of growing pains? Speaking of ugly fashion, the Whitecaps were hammered. Will they ever rise from mediocrity, or are they doomed without a major shakeup?
In hockeyland, we do a final once over and look ahead for the Canucks. Will they make more roster moves before training camp? Will Jim Benning get a new contract? Should he? Does this market have the patience for another year or two of rebuild? We discuss it all and more, plus our usual best and worst in Garbage Time!

It's the most wonderful time of the year, as it's the return of Just A Bit Outside! After a vacation hiatus, we're back with hockey, hockey, and just for fun, some more hockey. We recap the NHL Draft and all the wheelings and dealings of the Canucks. Have they improved? Is the cartel on the hotseat? Tune in for an in-depth discussion on free agency and the challenges of winning, and maybe be entertained as well.

Episode 146 - Paging 1994 and 1944
Wednesday Jun 05, 2019
Wednesday Jun 05, 2019
The last show before hiatus, so soak this one in. We start off with a look at the NBA and NHL Finals. Do the Raptors have a legitimate chance at an upset? Can the Blues win the war of attrition over the Bruins? For fun we even discuss the flurry of rumours swirling around the Canucks.
The heart of the show is the 25th anniversary of the Canucks 1994 Stanley Cup run. It was a crazy year, sports and otherwise, and we reflect on those playoffs and team, sprinkled with our random memories. Darcy Wakaluk anyone?
We also salute the 75th anniversary of D-Day, with our thanks to everyone who participated in World War 2.

Episode 145 - Paging The Vancouver Blues
Monday May 27, 2019
Monday May 27, 2019
Are we Canada's premier sports podcast? Maybe, but we don't bill ourselves that way, and neither should other regional entities. We kick off with a salute to the Toronto Raptors reaching their first NBA Finals. Does that make them Canada's team? No, but it gives them a chance at a championship. Can they beat the Warriors? We also review the 103rd Indy 500 and the BC Lions first pre-season game. Did anyone emerge as a candidate to make the team? Can some new marketing help re-engage this market?
Hockey season enters its final stretch, as we reach the Stanley Cup Finals. Bruins or Blues? What sort of role will the officiating play in this series? The World Hockey Championship has also crowned a new winner. Why doesn't this tournament garner as much attention and admiration in North America as it does in Europe? We also look at the Canucks lead up to the NHL Draft, including a rant against a certain ticket provider. It's all speculation, and that's what makes it fun. All this plus our best and worst in Garbage Time!

Episode 144 - Paging The Fine Young Cannibals
Tuesday May 21, 2019
Tuesday May 21, 2019
Did you miss the drama of the PGA Championship? Neither did we. Something you won't miss? Another episode of Just A Bit Outside! We look back at Brooks Koepka dominating another major - is he the best golfer in the world right now? In a huge shock, the Golden State Warriors are back in the NBA Finals. The only question is which eastern team gets the privilege of losing to them. We even talk a little football, as the BC Lions kick off training camp with a bunch of new faces. What will the team look like this year?
Hockey season slowly begins to wind down, as the St. Louis Blues punch their ticket to their first finals since 1970 during the show. Can they beat a Bobby Orr-less Boston team and win a championship? We tip our cap to the Prince George Spruce Kings, who lost out in their national championship bid, as well as a look at the Memorial Cup. Do host teams have an unfair advantage in these tournaments? We even manage to talk a little Canucks and World Hockey Championships, plus out best and worst in Garbage Time!

Episode 143 - Paging John Robson and Jim Shorthouse
Wednesday May 15, 2019
Wednesday May 15, 2019
They say all good things must come to an end, but we're still going strong! Sadly the same can't be said for the Vancouver Giants, whose magical run through the playoffs came to an end with an overtime loss in Game 7 of the WHL Championship. Will this run reinvigorate the junior hockey fan base here in the long term?
We discuss the NBA playoffs (seriously) as it's down to the final four. Do the Raptors stand a chance? Can anyone beat the Warriors? The PGA Championship is also upon us, having moved up from it's late summer spot. Can Tiger win again, or will one of the younger players reign supreme?
The NHL playoffs continue with the conference finals, and our predictions continue to be questionable at best. Can anything stop the Bruins? Will either western team even be standing by the time the finals roll around? We also try something a little new and give the power to the people. We talk a little Canucks, and some more junior hockey, plus our best and worst in Garbage Time!

Episode 142 - Paging Jason Botchford
Tuesday May 07, 2019
Tuesday May 07, 2019
With the sudden and unexpected passing of Jason Botchford, we pay our respects. We may not have always agreed on a professional level, but life is bigger than sports, and it's a sad reality. Our thoughts go out to his family.
We do manage to discuss some sports, including a recap of Geoff's experience in Seattle watching the Mariners and Cubs. We talk some junior hockey, with the Vancouver Giants in the WHL Finals against Prince Albert, as well as an update on Canucks prospect Mike DiPietro of the Ottawa 67's. We recap round two of the NHL playoffs, plus some other wheelings and dealings around the league. Even some Canucks news, plus our best and worst in Garbage Time!
